Back in the day, Leslie, our fearless founder, owned a retail store that sold lots of pre-printed t-shirts. But several times a week people came in and asked if she made custom t-shirts. She sent them to a local copy shop. But she was never one to turn away business, at least not for long.
One day at a trade show, she came across a booth selling heat presses and heat transfers (like from the 80’s). It brought her back to her childhood in San Francisco. She remembered her baby blue “Rocky” t-shirt fondly. She thought, this is cool. I could do custom t-shirts in my store.
But then she realized that the concept was a really good one and deserved its own identity and storefront. So she opened B-BAM! on pike street in 2002.
In the beginning, B-BAM!, sold lots of heat transfer decals and some completely custom designed shirts. As the technology for making custom t-shirts has changed B-BAM! has evolved away from the pre-made decal to print completely custom designs.
A year or so into the store, B-BAM! was getting lots of requests for bulk orders of shirts as well. So Leslie started screen printing and embroidering larger orders for her customers. This went very well except that they also needed their logo on bags, pens, mugs, flash drives and more. What’s an entrepreneur to do... In 2007 she became a promotional products distributor. Currently, the majoroty of the business is providing screen printed apparel and promotional products to companies and organizations.
